Corporate Governance
Strong corporate governance underpins our business. We are continuously working to improve the frameworks by which we operate, and striving to ensure compliance with regulatory and best practice methods in all countries in which we work. A strong governance model supports our team to behave with excellence, curiosity and integrity.
Ausvet was established as a trust in 1996. Since 1 July, 2016 Ausvet has been a proprietary limited (Pty Ltd) company registered with Australian Securities and Investments Commission. Ausvet’s head office is in Fremantle (AUS) and representative offices in Jakarta (Indonesia) and Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam). In choosing to incorporate as a limited liability company, Ausvet’s directors have been able to take on a broader range of opportunities to grow the company, to achieve the company’s mission.
Board of Directors
The Ausvet Board sets the vision and approves the purpose and strategy of the company. We recognise that the board is responsible for ensuring the ethical tone and culture of the business and our people. The Board Code of Conduct outlines how board members are expected to behave, and is available on this page.
Our board is comprised of a Non-Executive Board Chair, Erica Haddon, together with two Executive Directors Dr Ben Madin and Dr Brendan Cowled. Our Chair was appointed in February 2021, with all other directors appointed in June 2016; all have served continuously since appointment. Since 2019, all Directors are required to retire after three years, and can nominate for re-election.
All of our board members are Graduates of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Ausvet Pty Ltd is an Australian registered proprietary limited liability company. It has three shareholders.
Board Meetings
Ausvet Board meetings take place quarterly.
Company Secretary
Kelly Moore (Meridian Consultants) is the Ausvet Company Secretary.
Corporate Team
At an operational level, our technical consultants are supported by a strong corporate team with skilled and qualified accountants, human resource advisors, administrative and project support staff and a dedicated project management office.

Sustainability – economic, environmental and social
This is offically still under development with management however whilst Ausvet does not have a formal environmental management system yet, we are committed to carefully considering the business economic, environmental and social impacts of our work, and to developing a strategic approach to sustainability. Moreover we recognise the benefits that an emphasis on sustainable development can bring to all stakeholders to whom we deliver, and/or are impacted by our services and projects, as such social responsibility is one of Ausvet’s core values.We are committed to sustainable practices and carefully considering and managing the economic, environmental and social impact of our services, and the projects that we deliver. Ausvet are careful to consider the impact and sustainability of each project, and support and encourage responsible practices through a variety of means:
