With over 12 years of experience navigating the complex ecosystems of code, Ryan serves as a cornerstone of our technical architecture team. A dual-threat scholar with degrees in both Computer Science and Software Engineering from Edith Cowan University, Ryan brings a level of precision to our systems that is, quite frankly, vital when tracking global animal health trends.

Ryan’s expertise spans the entire development lifecycle, though he is most at home when orchestrating the “nervous system” of our platforms. His specialties include:

System Architecture & Design: Building robust frameworks that can handle massive datasets without breaking a sweat.

Cloud Infrastructure: A wizard with AWS and Lambda, ensuring our data remains as agile as a Border Collie on an agility course.

Full-Stack Mastery: Fluent in JavaScript, React, and PHP, bridging the gap between elegant user interfaces and complex back-end logic.

Database Design & Networking: Ensuring the flow of epidemiological data is seamless, secure, and logically structured.

Behind the Code

In the world of veterinary epidemiology, we deal with a lot of unpredictable variables—but none quite as unique as Ryan’s domestic situation. At home, he serves as the primary caretaker (and occasional target) of Shiro, a cat whose ferocious feline tendencies are balanced only by her fluffiness. We find that Ryan’s experience managing said feline makes him uniquely qualified to handle even the most aggressive software bugs.

When he isn’t de-escalating feline standoffs or optimising server clusters, Ryan spends his time immersed in his “unhealthy” (his words, not ours) obsession with Star Wars Lego. Much like the complex epidemiological models we build, Ryan believes that most problems in life can be solved with a clear set of instructions, a bit of patience, and several thousand tiny plastic bricks.
